How To Find The Best Vitamin C Skin Care Product For your Skin Type

Vitamin C skincare products have become very popular over the last decade since they are effective at treating anti aging skincare issues. Despite the fact that there are surgical procedures that eliminate lines and wrinkles, some people prefer to use a less invasive approach to treat their aging skin condition. There are different forms of Vitamin C found in these products and it is necessary to find the right one that is best suited for your skin.

Vitamin C works by stimulating collagen synthesis and this will make the skin more elastic. In addition, it has been found to be an excellent exfoliating agent and can help eliminate the outer layer of our dead skin cells. Since these types of products are very acidic, they can be irritating to the skin. If you suffer from acne or rosacea, consult with your dermatologist first before using any product containing this compound. There are less acidic forms of Vitamin C and they may be tolerable for your skin type.

Vitamin C skincare products are beneficial for the skin since they increase collage synthesis. It is first necessary to determine what type of skin you have and then select a form of Vitamin C that is best suited for you. If you suffer from acne or rosacea, a formula containing ascorbic acid will be too harsh for your skin and will cause additional redness and irritation. Fortunately there are milder forms of this nutrient that are best suited for problematic skin conditions such as acne and rosacea.

Ascorbyl palmitate is a fat soluble form of Vitamin C. It can be used on problematic skin since it will not cause any irritation, redness, or stinging. It is a superior form of this vitamin since it is better absorbed into the skin and retains its potency longer than ascorbic acid. It will help to reduce inflammation and decrease UVB sun damage when applied topically.

Another form of Vitamin C used in skincare products is Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate. This compound is also superior to ascorbic acid and has been found to be an effective skin whitening agent. It also receives kudos since it is as effective as ascorbic acid in boosting collagen synthesis; it will do this at lower dosage levels. Of all the different forms of vitamin C, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate is probably the best one recommended for use on inflamed skin since it will not cause any irritation. It is more stable than ascorbic acid, but it must be stored properly to prevent oxidation. Some products on the market have been found to contain low levels of Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate and are ineffective at boosting collagen synthesis.

Since Vitamin C is an antioxidant, topical products help fight free radicals found on the skin. This is important since these harmful free radical molecules can damage tissue. However, it is important to know that Vitamin C skincare products can also produce free radicals. As we now know, free radical production occurs when these products have been oxidized. Other additional antioxidants such as Vitamin E are added to Vitamin C skincare products since they help counteract any free radical formation caused by oxidized ascorbic acid.

Another newer form of Vitamin C used in skincare formulas is Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate. This compound has been found to be helpful in treating dry skin, and can prevent sunburn and also lighten the skin. Since it will not irritate the skin, it can be used by those people who suffer from acne or rosacea. So, if you want to improve your appearance and have a more youthful complexion, you should consider incorporating this or any other form of Vitamin C compound into your daily skincare regimen.
