How To Care For Sensitive Skin

The season is changing from winter to spring. The unstable weather, dryness and radiation in spring cause sensitive skin to be more problematic. It is advised by skin care professionals that people with sensitive skin should focus their skin care procedures on moisturizing and sun-blocking and use less cosmetic products.

To keep you skin supple and less sensitive, you must remind yourself to apply toner and lotion immediately after cleansing your face. These toner and lotion help to tighten your pore, soothe your skin as well as replenish and lock the moisture on your face. But, the chemical toner available may contain alcohol and other allergic ingredients that make your skin sensitive. Therefore, you may need some homemade natural toners for help.

The first one is aloe vera toner. Aloe vera extract is used by many products because of its excellent moisturizing and soothing functions. This toner is very easy to make. You only need a piece of aloe vera and 5 ml of glycerin. Extract the juice from the aloe vera with a juicer. Then mix the aloe vera juice with the glycerin to form the natural toner. Pour the natural toner into a small spray bottle so that you can carry with you all the time. Spray the toner onto your face when you feel dry for your skin.

Other than aloe vera toner, you can also try rose water. Rose water is also easy to make but it is a bit more difficult compared to the aloe vera one. You have to prepare 3 tea spoons dried rose petal, 10ml glycerin and 100ml distilled water as ingredients. Heat the distilled water. Add the dried rose petal to the boiling water and keep heating for 3 to 5 minutes. Allow the solution to cool down. Finally, mix the rose water with the glycerin. The usage is the same as the aloe vera toner. Just apply the rose water to your face whenever you feel needed.

Sun-blocking is extremely important to all types of skin. The UV light from the sun causes skin cells to age. With the aging of skin cells, skin becomes dry, darken, inelastic and sensitive.

To have your sensitive skin better protected, you should know how to choose the right sun block. Though sun block is extremely common and is widely available, not all types of sun block are suitable for sensitive skin. The easiest way to choose the right one is by looking for some important key words like allergy tested, fragrance free and clinically proved. To play safe, even you have one allergy tested sun block, you should test it yourself to see if it really causes no allergy on your skin. Apply a little amount of the sun block onto the inside of your arm or behind your ear. Discontinue the usage if you find any redness or allergy effect on those places.

Other than sun block, you may need physical sun blocking with a cap or UV-blocking umbrella when you work or play outside. There is no reason to be lazy if you wish to have healthy skin.
