Anti Aging Primer – The Food You Eat And Then Some

In the quest to thwart the process of aging, people even thought that there is actually a literal fountain that was believed to defeat aging and death. They went on quests to look look for it but unfortunately failed to find any such enchanted fountain. That did not stop us though because until now we are still trying to find for the best answer in dealing with this human condition which most of us do not think about too fondly.

The skin is the first one to show signs if there is something wrong with our health. Incidentally, it is also the first one to show aging symptoms through signs like wrinkles and fine lines and skin spots.

We have made significant progress in our quest to fight aging and have come up with many different intervention programs that usually involve skin application products such as serums, skin creams, gels that you will surely find on any beauty shop.

As such, we seem to be making a big mistake in our quest to defeat aging because it should not involve only skin creams, gels and serums as there are other ways to do so. The most effective of which is one that tackles aging even before it starts showing it’s ugly head. You could start the war effort in the kitchen!

Yes, you have read it correctly. Our kitchens will also help us solve our skin problems, through sound diet and good, healthy food!

Let’s put it this way: there are only three kinds of food when it comes to our health— the good, the bad, and the neutral. Simply put, if you eat a lot of good foods, then you will probably live a healthier life; but if you prefer eating the bad stuff, then don’t expect the same result.

The same is true for the skin. Eating a lot of skin-healthy food will help you fend off skin wrinkles and any other aging-related skin problems.

Identifying which foods are good for the skin is the easiest part because we have been taught what they are ever since we kindergarten. Skin loves vitamins and minerals which incidentally are also what they need to fight the effects of father time.

Vitamins A, C, D, and E are crucial and plays a lot of role in slowing and reversing the aging process. They are powerful antioxidants that help the human body eliminate free radicals which are substances that makes the body self-destruct faster and age. We all know where we could get these all-important vitamins and mineral because we have been taught it from the moment we could understand words.

Fruits and vegetables are the basic and most reliable sources of vitamins and minerals that promote aging-preventing body processes. Apples, carrots, oranges are some of the best and are readily available. Avocado alone is said to contain 20 vitamins that are invaluable to our overall health.

Besides eating the right food, staying away from the wrong kind is also a great strategy. Avoiding food rich in trans fatty acids, sugars and starches will go a long way because eating lots of them will promote inflammatory body responses that can set us back in our anti-aging quest. These types of food speed up the aging process.

Science has shown without a doubt that we become what we put in our mouth. That is why a healthy diet is the only thing we need to do to help us in our quest for the best health possible. We must try to keep ourselves healthy way before we start showing signs of health problems. Be of a preventive mindset. Stay young and away from the clinics by eating healthy food that your body will love.
