Some people think that doing facial exercises just involves stretching the skin and muscles on your face so that the muscles would increase their tone and exert a stronger pull on the skin. But you can’t go inventing your own exercises as you might not fully understand how they work and may do more harm than good.
One of the more common exercises done to eliminate wrinkles near the eyes and on the forehead is by pulling down on the skin under your eyes, and raising your eyebrows as high as you can. This will help those who have a lot of frown lines on their forehead.
Thin lips, sagging cheeks and laugh lines are also a common problem. You can perform exercises such as pulling down on your cheeks while smiling as hard as you can, or alternately puckering your lips and smiling to help get rid of these problems.
These exercises work by stretching your muscles to their maximum capacity in the not so normal ways. This is similar to making them lift weights so that they would increase their tone. Once this happens, they can exert a stronger pull on your skin thus reducing the depth of existing wrinkles and preventing more from forming.
Aside from just stretching your muscles to their maximum capacity, you must do it in such a way that the skin do not fold that promote the formation of more wrinkles. If this is done in a way that the skin folds to accentuate your wrinkles, then you are doing it wrong. This will only highlight your wrinkles more thus negating the increase in tone of your muscles.
Once you have mastered these basic things that you need to know about facial exercises, you can start trying your own variations of the exercises. This will help in keeping you motivated to continue doing the exercises. You won’t be bored with doing the same exercises everyday anymore.
You can alternate doing the regular exercises that you have learned, as well as the ones that you have come up with. You can also teach others on how to perform the exercises so that you will have someone to do the exercises with. This is another way to keep yourself interested in the exercises.
Many people do not want to perform facial exercises as a way of reducing wrinkles as it takes a long time to work. but if you are able to keep yourself motivated by varying your exercises and asking someone to do the exercises with you, you will not realize that many months has passed and you will already be seeing a reduction in your wrinkles.
